The Málaga Fair 2025 will begin on August 15, and this year it features numerous new additions to its fairground lighting
In August, Málaga is decked out in festive lights to celebrate one of its most popular festivals. The Málaga Fair is one of the most important in Spain and stands out for its cultural richness and vibrant atmosphere, as well as for its iconic fairground lighting — once again this year designed, manufactured, and installed by Ximenez Iluminación, a leading company in artistic and decorative lighting both nationally and internationally.
When will the lights be switched on at the 2025 Malaga Fair?
The Malaga Fair begins with a fireworks display on the night of 15 August. Later, in the early hours of 16 August, all the lights and the fair arch will be switched on, marking the start of a week of festivities. For a week, the city of Málaga will be filled with visitors who will flock to the Cortijo de Torres fairgrounds to celebrate the night fair, and then move to the historic centre of Málaga to celebrate the day fair.
What will the covers and lighting be like at the Malaga fair?
There will be many new features at the 2025 Malaga Fair, but the star of the show will be the new illuminated fair arch to the Cortijo de Torres fairgrounds, a spectacular structure that will become one of the most iconic elements of the 2025 fair.
The fair arch is inspired by the temporary architecture erected in the city for a royal visit. It will be a replica of the Kiosco Embarcadero de la Reina, a historic building of great symbolic value for Malaga. This kiosk was erected to welcome Queen Isabella II of Spain in 1862, when she visited the city of Malaga.
The fair arch will consist of numerous LED light points and will incorporate Ecogreenlux curtains, a new feature patented by Ximenez that reduces light pollution by up to 93% and saves up to 60% energy, thus reinforcing the sustainable nature of the installation.

Another new feature of this year’s fair lighting is that three of the main streets in the Real will have completely renovated lighting: Antonio Rodríguez Street, Peñista Rafael Fuentes Street and José Blázquez ‘El Maño’ Street. These streets will debut motifs designed specifically for this edition of the 2025 fair. Their designs will add colour, visual appeal and a more immersive festive atmosphere for all visitors to the Malaga Fairgrounds.
On the other hand, the fair arch to the central Marqués de Larios street, which was renovated in 2023, will once again be a meeting point for visitors and locals at the famous Feria de Día. The entrance will continue to bring colour and unique aesthetics to the historic centre of Malaga.
Ximenez Iluminación, a lifetime of lighting up Andalusia’s fairs
Ximenez Iluminación has been the leading decorative lighting company in the sector for over 80 years, responsible for lighting the main and most characteristic festivals throughout the country, as well as Christmas in fifty countries around the world. Since the beginning of spring and with it the first fairs, the Puente Genil-based company has been lighting numerous fairs in the south of the country, reaching a hundred festivals lit by the company next October, when the last ones on the festive calendar will be celebrated.
The countdown to the 2025 Malaga Fair is already underway, and with it comes growing excitement to see the city of Malaga decorated and illuminated with its traditional fair lighting. A festival where tradition and innovation go hand in hand and where Ximenez Iluminación once again demonstrates that it is synonymous with excellence in the art of illuminating emotions.
