Ximenez Group incorporates the first all-female team into its assembly crew

16 October 2023

Ximenez Group continues to strengthen its team with the addition of the first two female specialists in the assembly and installation of street lighting and large structures. As a result, Ximenez Group now has its first team of women for Christmas lighting installation.

“The low presence of women in fields related to electricity and more technical professions has been the main reason for the lack of female personnel in specialized positions like our street installers,” states Alberto del Rey, Corporate Director of HR at Ximenez Group. “Thanks to our commitment to recruiting female talent and enhancing the training of women in these technical roles within the company, we have taken a significant step toward hiring female specialists in electrical installations. We are progressing with society, and we hope that the presence of women in more technical job roles will become increasingly common, strong, and steadfast,” del Rey concludes.

Desiré Jiménez and Rosalía Taguas are the first two women to join the assembly team at Ximenez Group, and during this Christmas season, they will be working at various locations to install the holiday lighting projects planned by the company in Puente Genil.

“I feel very happy doing a job that I really like, and I am very grateful for the opportunity that Ximenez has given me and for the support I have received from our supervisor,” says Rosalía, who affirms that she feels “accepted and loved by the entire team of crews to which I belong. I feel like one of the team, and it’s a lesson for my children, to fight for your dreams and try to be happy doing a job you love.”

Her colleague, Desiré, emphasizes that “from day one, all my colleagues have been very kind and explained everything to us with a lot of patience, helping both of us a lot.” This satisfaction is also expressed by David Muñoz, the foreman of the team where Desiré and Rosalía work, who says that it is “a source of pride to have them on our team. They have integrated perfectly and are already part of the family,” highlighting that “they have learned very quickly, are skilled, responsible, and very committed to their work. What more could you ask for?”

This is a significant step for the company in an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated and is now increasingly featuring more female representation and prominence. Ximenez Group joins this trend thanks to Desiré and Rosalía.
