Located in the city centre, this square becomes a gathering point for locals and visitors who want to immerse themselves in the Christmas spirit brought by Seville’s festive illuminations.
San Francisco Square becomes the central hub of Christmas each year
In 2021, Sevilla displayed the largest Christmas tree in Europe, standing at nearly 40 metres tall. This impressive structure, installed by Ximenez Iluminación, provided some of the best images of Seville at Christmas. In addition, its various light and sound shows attracted thousands of tourists and locals every day, who came to enjoy the Christmas spirit and Seville’s illuminations.
Another major Christmas lighting project of Ximenez Iluminación in Seville was the debut of the Angels of Light in San Francisco Square.
Twelve 12-metre-high angels formed a celestial choir, and their interplay of light and sound gathered thousands of people around them, making it one of the most visited attractions of the Christmas lights in Seville.
One of the most memorable Christmas illuminations, which was first unveiled in this famous Seville square, were the three large crowns of the Three Wise Men. Three walk-through crowns that earned the admiration of both children and adults with their lights, colors and shows.
